Getting your first uniform(s)


Cadets:
Blues - All cadets receive the USAF blues uniform free from CAP National HQ. The blues uniform is our standard office attire and is worn at least once a month and to any formal events. Each cadet should fill out the blues uniform request via e-services. The blues uniform can often take several weeks to arrive. During this time, cadets should wear business casual wear or their BDU's to meetings where the uniform of the day (UOD) is blues.

BDU's - The standard work uniform is the Battle Dress Uniform (BDU). This uniform is worn at most meetings and is required for any emergency services activities. Our squadron and the NJ Wing, often have surplus uniforms available. Cadets should contact their new Element Leader for information on receiving a surplus uniform. If a surplus uniform is not available or if you would like a new uniform, you can order the complete uniform package online. This can be ordered from The Hock Shop (http://www.thehock.com/shop/?shop=1&cart=1191631&cat=27). The cadet BDU is titled "Complete Basic Woodland Camo BDU Uniform - Cadet"

Seniors:
Blues - The blues uniform is our standard office attire and is worn at least once a month and to any formal events. Senior members are encouraged to purchase their own blues uniform. This can be done via a trip to Ft Dix Army Base or can be purchased online at The Hock Shop or Vanguard.

BDU's - The standard work uniform is the Battle Dress Uniform (BDU). This uniform is worn at most meetings and is required for any emergency services activities. Our squadron and the NJ Wing, often have surplus uniforms available. Many seniors order a complete uniform online at The Hock Shop. The Complete Basic Woodland Camo BDU Uniform - Senior is the correct one to buy (or the one below it which offers sew on service).

CIVIL AIR PATROL UNIFORM REGULATIONS (39-1)
The Civil Air Patrol adheres to similar uniform standards as the US Air Force. This includes a weight and grooming standard for certain uniforms. Please see the Civil Air Patrol Uniform Manual (M39-1) for more information on how to properly wear the uniform.
